Tangled Up With a Cowboy by Anne Carrole 💕 Guest Post, Book Tour & Gift Card Giveaway 💕 (Contemporary Western Romance)

A healthy-living yoga instructor and a gutsy bull rider? When opposites attract, sparks fly, but will love ignite?

Cowboy Lonnie Kasin is close to making the rodeo finals in bull riding. If he’s lucky enough to make the cut, he’s bent on doing everything he can to prove he belongs there. That is, until he meets a spunky yoga instructor who thinks he’s two bricks short of a load for riding bulls. How can he convince her that a bull rider is the man for her while proving to the world he belongs on that Finals roster?

No one would mistake Livvy Dennis for the responsible one in her family. And only she thinks moving to Wyoming to open up her own yoga studio is a good idea. Of course, she never expected a daredevil bull rider from Cheyenne to pull the mat out from under her. There are risk takers and then there is just plain crazy. She’ll have to figure out which one she is before it’s too late to save her heart.

Story Ideas

Readers often ask authors how they come up with their storylines. Sometimes all it takes is reading a magazine article to get the creative wheels in motion and that is exactly what happened with this book, TANGLED UP WITH A COWBOY, which is about a gutsy bull rider and the woman who tames him.
The article was a sobering account of a Canadian bull rider who had a posthumous diagnosis of CTE, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, the same degenerative brain disease that has affected some high-profile football players and is thought to be caused by repeated trauma to the head like the kind that can cause a concussion. Many fans of bull riding may not be aware of how dangerous the sport is. According to a study conducted at the University of Calgary almost 20 out of every 100,000 rodeo contestants will experience a catastrophic injury. In the sport of football, less than one out of every 100,000 players will suffer a similar serious injury. Not only do bull riders risk serious injury from horns, hooves, and the crushing impact of hitting packed earth, they also risk their lives. At least 21 professional bull riders have died since 1989.
Knowing these facts, as every bull rider surely does, a cowboy has to be fearless to get on a bull rodeo event after rodeo. Cowboy Lonnie Kasin, the brave bull rider in TANGLED UP WITH A COWBOY, Book 5 in the Hearts of Wyoming series, certainly deserves a special woman, one who is caring but strong in her own right. It wasn’t until Book 4 in the series, THE LONER’S HEART, that I found that woman. Flirty, spunky, yoga instructor, Livvy Dennis, sister of the heroine in The Loner’s Heart, came charging into that story and never looked back. But what would a healthy-living advocate possibly have in common with a gutsy, stubborn bull rider? On the surface it may not seem like they would have much in common, but digging deeper, it turns out they share similar doubts, vulnerabilities, and dreams.
One problem though. Bull riding is not on Livvy’s healthy-lifestyle list and Lonnie isn’t about to give up the sport he loves or the one place he feels he belongs, despite some head-banging injuries. Who is going to win the battle and, more importantly, can each of them respect the other’s choices? You’ll have to read the book to find out.
What sports do you like to watch or play?
Each story in the Hearts of Wyoming series stands on its own, but every book features rugged cowboys and the strong women who tame them.

“Yoga is great for flexibility, balance, strengthening. I’m focused on healthy living. I’m really into taking care of the body.” And she would definitely like to take care of his.

His eyebrows rose. “I could probably use a little instruction.”

No more pretending she was someone she wasn’t. No more trying to fit into someone else’s world. She was done faking it in the hopes that someone would pick her. Wyoming was a new beginning, and she would be as honest as she could be about everything.

Better to find out now than get involved and be disappointed later. He either was relationship material, or she’d be forced to move on.

She thought about the regret she’d heard in his voice earlier and hoped she was right about the cause. “And I could use a boyfriend.”

His smile drooped, his body stiffened, and his jaw tightened.

Heat suffused her cheeks like someone had poured scalding water through her veins as she waited for him to say something, anything.

He rubbed a hand across his chin. “You’d realize pretty quick I’m not boyfriend material.”

She’d asked for it. She’d told herself it would be better to find out sooner rather than later.

But it wasn’t any better.

“Good to know,” she lied, when she really wanted to ask him why he wasn’t boyfriend material. A woman at every rodeo? Couldn’t keep it in his pants? Likely cowboys weren’t a breed apart from other men. She’d just allowed romantic notions to get in the way of reality…again.

“I’ve a chance to go to the Finals this year,” he continued, talking so fast the words folded into each other. “That’s taking all my time and attention.”

What had she expected, blurting out such a thing to a man she barely knew?

As typical, she’d imbued him with characteristics and feelings she had wanted him to have, not ones he did have, because she’d imagined him saying wonderful things to her when they finally met again. Like I’ve been in love with you from the first time I saw youYou are the one for me tooI’d love to be your boyfriend.

Well, he’d been honest, at least. That was an improvement over the others.

The music stopped, and he boggled a step in order to halt.

“If you are interested in just tonight…”

A year ago she might have agreed. She would have never mentioned the boyfriend thing. And she would have expended a lot of time and effort trying to fit into his world so he would want to be her boyfriend.

But that was a year ago. This was now. And she’d learned a thing or two since then. About herself. About men. About life.

She stepped out of his embrace, shook her head, turned on her heel, and left him standing on the dance floor as the band played another slow tune.

Been there. Done that. Not doing it again.

Saddle bronc rider Chance Cochran knows a bad omen when he sees one, and Libby Brennan isn’t just a bad omen, she’s the woman he was married to, five years ago, for all of forty-eight hours—before her father dragged her away and started divorce proceedings.

It isn’t by coincidence Libby Brennan shows up where Chance is celebrating the win that put him in the million-dollar cowboy class. Older and hopefully wiser, she’s come to clear up a legal technicality as well as ask his forgiveness. Then maybe she can move on with her life.

But saying she’s sorry won’t be enough to make amends to this cowboy who has endured a lifetime of people abandoning him. When Chance needs some help after sustaining an injury however, Libby may have a second chance—at love.

Rodeos, wedding bells, and one crazy will!

For love…

When Mandy Prescott’s grandfather dies, this determined cowgirl expects to head up the family’s rodeo company. But JM Prescott’s last will not only gives that honor to Ty Martin, a man who broke Mandy’s heart a decade ago, it contains a crazy provision: to take back control, she must agree to marry Ty Martin for a period of six months. Mandy has three days to decide—marry a man she doesn’t trust but is still attracted to, or risk her company being sold. Risking her company is one thing. Risking her heart is another.

For money…

Maverick lawyer Ty Martin measures success in dollars and cents. He’s promised JM Prescott to base his decision to keep or sell the company on that yardstick. Only now he’s presented with an intriguing bonus: a six month, commitment-free relationship with a woman he’s always desired. Ty’s certain he’s up to both challenges.

Forever?

But, when it comes to this feisty cowgirl, has this maverick met his match?

A feud reminiscent of the Hatfields and McCoys, a love story worthy of Romeo and Juliet.

Despite growing up on the Pleasant Valley Ranch, single mom Cat McKenna doesn’t know a thing about cattle. But even with her preference for high heels instead of cowboy boots, she’s determined to save the family ranch she inherited for her son. She just needs to hire the right foreman. Neighboring rancher and town heartbreaker, Cody Taylor, might be perfect for the job, though their families have been feuding over land and water for generations.

Living in the shadow of the wealthier McKenna ranch has not been easy for the Taylors. But buried under a mountain of debt after his late father’s illness, the only way out for Cody may be to accept Cat McKenna’s job offer.

Can Cody keep his pride and ranch intact while helping the one family in all of Wyoming that’s the sworn enemy of the Taylors...and the one woman in Wyoming who is capable of stealing not only his land, but his rancher’s heart?

For those who believe in second chances…

Cowboy Trace Martin is fighting to hold on to both his ranch and his five-year-old daughter. This single dad may need a caregiver for his child, but will hiring Haylee Dennis, his neighbor’s attractive niece, be the solution to his problems, or the beginning of new ones? Because she has a secret…and he has a past.

Recently divorced, broke, and seeking to free herself from the tangled web of her ex-husband’s dubious business practices, city girl Haylee is hopeful a temporary job caring for a rancher’s young daughter will work out. When she meets the sexy cowboy who is the epitome of the strong, silent type, she isn’t prepared for the sparks that fly. But her attraction to the enigmatic loner may be one complication too many in an already complicated life.

Will two people with enough baggage to hobble a pack horse play it safe, or take a chance on love?
