VINCENT KAMATEROS is no longer the lonely exiled vampire running a cupcake shop, but the heir to his father’s throne.
JOHN REEDER is out and accepts his vampire lover, but he has to deal with his lover being destined to rule the vampire kingdom.
While Vince and John revel in their newfound love, dark forces are at work in Orbus Arcana, determined to keep the progressive Vince from becoming the next vampire king.
Time is short and decisions loom. Their irrevocable choices will change their lives forever.
The sight of John’s firm muscular body in his trunks and a t-shirt, skin tanned from the sun, hair bleached even more blond, elicited a visceral reaction from Vince. He marveled at how his desire flared even after all the time they’d spent together.
John squinted out over the endless waves of the South Pacific Ocean. “So, what do we do with all this time, alone on a deserted island?”
“If you have to ask that, you’re not the detective I thought you were.”
John grinned. “Horndog.”
“Around you? Always.”
“Lets walk inland. Find some shade.” John gave him a quizzical look as he adjusted the backpack. “You have to be careful, right?”
“Worried I’ll burn to a crisp?” Vince chuckled.
A dark glint passed across John’s gaze. “That’s not funny.”
“Amante, I’m sorry,” he said, realizing how insensitive he’d been. John had witnessed a vampire turning to ash, the same vampire John had staked in the heart. But the stake had killed Bonaventura, not the sun. Yet, the image of the vampire rotting before John’s eyes had to be seared into John’s mind. Vince grasped John’s hand and kissed the scar left from touching the black stake that belonged to Bonaventura. “I’m fine. I can take the sun in small doses. I’m very careful and the sunscreen helps.”
“Yeah, still, I want more privacy. This is too out in the open for me.”
Hands clasped, they wandered up the beach toward the grove. The quiet shush of the waves lapping the shore still reached them, but under the swaying palm fronds the sunlight only filtered through drawing mottled shadows on the blanket they had laid down.

An introvert and artist with a healthy dose of skepticism about life and love =Viki. An extrovert and academic and a die-hard romantic =Vina. It was so not a match made in heaven. But Viki and Vina discovered a mutual love of traveling around the world, the paranormal, good coffee, and a healthy admiration for their respective creativity. Sitting in a coffee shop one day, they started brainstorming about story plots and Vince and John and the car crash in the bakery. A story was born. Vina writes the sappy romance and Viki tempers it. Between them, they managed to find their boys a ‘happily ever after’.Award winner, Viki Lyn is a successful writer of sexy romance, both gay and straight. It’s the romance that drives her stories to their final happily-ever-after. Many of her books are All Romance Ebook best sellers!
You can email Viki at viki.lyn.romance@gmail.com.
I now delight in writing romance after a couple of detours to be a nurse and an academic. There’s something so intrinsically good and uplifting about two people finding each other, that two-step before the happily ever after – just has to be the best story ever. Throw in some paranormal elements and I’m in heaven. Every year I indulge in another love of mine–traveling. New cultures, food, sights, languages — all serve as settings for the cast of hundreds in my head. Ergo — when worlds and mythologies collide — its like manna to my muse.
