Angela Ford takes a different direction this time to bring you a new adult series. A story centered around family, horses, true love, and finding your way from the wise words left to you.
Jack Willows was a great man. He always put others first. He’d taught his granddaughter to do the same. Raine Willows left her grandfather’s farm at eighteen to find her way in life. Seven years later, his death brings her back to the farm and her first love–the boy next door.
An empowering story of healing through horses. A farm that introduced her to the boy next door–Luke Daniels. The one she could never forget, no matter how many years and miles came between them. Grief reunites them, horses help heal their hearts, and gives them an idea to help others. An idea that had been her grandfather’s dream for her. The letter he left, changed the direction of her life and her heart.
Luke reached out and moved the strand of hair away from her eyes. “Seeing you again has stirred a lot of memories. At first, I thought it was just memories.” Luke took her hand in his. “But it’s more than that, Raine.” He pulled her hand close to his heart. “I’m feeling torn.”
“Why?” Raine looked at him. He appeared lost. It scared her to think he was lost again. The last time he felt that way, he enlisted.
“Being with you the last few days makes me want to stay.”
“You’re leaving?”
He shrugged. “If you sell the farm.”
“I haven’t decided anything yet. You’re welcome to stay. The farm needs you.”
“What about you Raine? Do you need me?”
His questions scared her. She withdrew her hand from his hold. She didn’t know how to answer him. Part of her wanted to tell him she did need him. The other part kept her quiet.
Luke stood, and faced the creek. “I’ll stay at the farm until you decide what you want to do with it.” He slowly turned to face her. “But, I don’t want to leave. I hope you don’t want to.” He gently touched her face, “I love you, Raine. I always have.”
