The Heathrow Affair by Lance and James Morcan 💕 Spotlight & EXCLUSIVE eBook Giveaway 💕 (Romantic Suspense)

London aircraft engineering apprentice John Woods has the job of his dreams, is married to his childhood sweetheart and thinks life is pretty good. Everything changes when his wife Sandra announces she’s leaving him for another man. Worse, she also advises him she’s pregnant and the child may not be his.

It turns out the other man is First Officer Richard King, a dashing pilot employed by the same international airline John works for at Heathrow Airport.

When John is blamed for a mid-air incident that has catastrophic consequences for one of the airline’s aircraft and for its co-pilot in particular, he and Sandra are reunited in a way neither could ever have imagined.

But all is not what it seems in this aviation love triangle…

John noticed Sandra was only pecking at her food.
“You sure you’re okay?”
“I’m fine!” Sandra snapped.
Her startled husband knew she wasn’t fine. It was obvious she was stressed about something.
Don’t force the issue, he told himself. Let her tell me in her own time.
John put it down to the damned heat. That and the stress she was under at work.
Me and her both
He could relate to how she might be feeling because he was under stress as well.
EAA’s transition from domestic to international flights had been a nightmare for senior management who quickly discovered the skills and experience gained in providing domestic air services didn’t automatically carry over to long haul, trans-Atlantic flights. After purchasing six near-new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from Singapore Airlines at 245 million pounds sterling each to service its new international routes, management soon found it was throwing good money after bad. Half-full planes, never-ending mechanical problems, high maintenance and training costs plus spiraling fuel prices added to the stress. That stress, of course, was transferred down the ladder to the staff who found themselves working longer hours for less money. It didn’t help their already rock bottom morale either that media chatter signaled the airline was in real danger of going under.
John sensed Sandra was ready to talk when she pushed her half eaten meal away and looked gravely at him.
“Sorry I snapped,” she said.
“No problem,” John grinned. “What’s bothering you?”
Sandra took a deep breath and began telling him something she’d been rehearsing all day long.
“I’m pregnant,” she said. Hurrying along before John could interrupt her, she added, “But the baby may not be yours.”
John sat bolt upright on the couch. He was still trying to digest the news that she was pregnant let alone get his head around the fact that he may not be the father. He stared, open-mouthed, at Sandra. He could see she was still speaking, but he wasn’t having much luck processing exactly what it was she was saying.
The words were coming out in a flood now. Not quite as Sandra had rehearsed, but good enough to get the message across, she hoped.
“I’ll be moving out first thing in the morning and I’ll be filing for divorce.”
She could see John was having trouble making sense of the bombshell – make that bombshells – she’d just dropped.
Suddenly emotional, she blurted, “I’m sorry!”
Fighting back tears, she stood up and headed for the main bedroom, leaving John alone in his confusion. She reappeared moments later with a pre-packed overnight bag in one hand and her car keys in the other.
“Where are you going?” John asked.
“I’ve arranged to stay with Mum and Dad tonight. I’ll be back for my things in the morning.”
Sandra almost ran from the apartment, so keen was she to be by herself.
John went to follow her, but thought better of it.
“Sandra!”
The young East Ender was left staring into space and asking himself what the hell just happened.
A hundred questions ran through his mind.
When did you find out you’re pregnant?
How far along are you?
Who is the other guy?
When did you start seeing him?
What did I do wrong?
Most of all he wanted to know the answer to the most pressing question of all.

Why?

Lance is currently perfecting his solo-written 'New Zealand' - an epic adventure novel covering 500 years of South Pacific and Polynesian history. Including research, writing (and life's distractions!), this novel has been over a decade in the making.

James Morcan

His books include the international thriller series THE ORPHAN TRILOGY (The Ninth Orphan / The Orphan Factory / The Orphan Uprising) and the historical adventure series THE WORLD DUOLOGY (World Odyssey / Fiji: A Novel) and the controversial non-fiction UNDERGROUND KNOWLEDGE SERIES (Genius Intelligence / Antigravity Propulsion etc). Other recent leading roles include the OZ-Bollywood productions 'My Cornerstone' and 'Love You Krishna'. Morcan also wrote the screenplays for both features which were filmed in Sydney and Mumbai and incorporated English and Hindi languages.

Additional productions he has perfromed in include a BBC TV series, several indie features and a live stadium production of Ben Hur headlined by Academy Award winner Russell Crowe. To date, his feature films have screened at cinemas in New Zealand, India, Australia, Italy and Cannes.
