Plagued by enemies from above and below ground, a group of Vârcolac warriors fight a desperate battle to keep their secret town safe from invasion

A different place to find her dreams…

The night Marissa Bonaventure is saved from vicious kidnappers by special operative, Dev Nichita, her life is changed in ways she never could have imagined. Brought to the safety of an underground “research institute,” she’s offered a hefty sum of money to stay on and work for a year, money that will allow her to fulfill her lifelong dream of owning a restaurant. But the surreal events that unfold in the strange community of Ţărână soon make her wonder if all is what it seems. When the shocking truth about Dev is exposed, Marissa faces an impossible decision. She loves Dev deeply, but committing to a Vârcolac is a forever proposition, and the only way she can be with Dev will require her to throw away her one chance to redeem a miserable past.

The man he wants to be…

The night Dev Nichita rescues Marissa from the claws of the Om Rău demon race, he knows she’s meant to be his mate. Lying to her about his true nature feels wrong, but he needs time to make her fall in love with him before he reveals that he’s a different breed of human being. When that secret finally comes out, their relationship is shattered in ways Dev hadn’t predicted. A 100-year-old betrayal rises up to threaten their future together—devastating every member of his family—and Dev’s own angry withdrawal becomes a nearly insurmountable obstacle. Then the Topside Om Rău enemy threatens a catastrophic breach of the hidden community, and Dev must call upon all his power as he races against the clock to save the most important people in his life.

** Contains profanity and adult situations.
Inhaling a deep sigh, Marissa leaned over Dev, reaching for his wine glass with a languorous movement that brushed her breast against his arm.

He stiffened as if she’d just shoved an icy thermometer up his ass.

She turned her head toward him, her lips next to his ear, caressing him with her breath as she said, “I made Osso Bucco for—”

He crashed to his feet.

She yelped as his hard shoulder knocked the wine bottle out of her hand. It flew and flipped, then hit the floor on its side and spun, spraying red wine around her room sprinkler-style.

“Damn it, Devid!” She balled her hands into fists and glared at him through a sudden sheen of tears. “What’s your problem?!”

“Nothing. I…” He jerked away from the table. “I just think maybe we should go to Garwald’s for a—”

“Oh, I know, you forgot to take your vitamins this morning, didn’t you?” Swallowing back her tears, she crossed her arms beneath her breasts and heated her glare to boiling.

He released a fractured breath. “I’m…not sure what…?”

“Or maybe you put on the wrong pair of underwear.”

His eyebrows crashed together. “What are you talking about?”

She flung out an arm. “I’m just trying to figure out what excuse you’re going to use tonight not to sleep with me.”

“E-excuse?” His Adam’s apple moved up and down. “Why would I do that, Marissa? I’ve just been, you know…”

“Oh, gimme a break,” she snapped back. “From that original groin injury, you’ve gone from ‘I feel like I’m catching a cold’ to ‘I’m kind of tired tonight’ and ‘I have to get up early tomorrow,’ onto incredibly drool-brain stuff like ‘I think we should get to know each other better first’—ha!—and ‘I want you to be sure that I respect you.’ Respect!” she spat the word. “Gee, thanks, Dev, but if it’s all the same to you, I’d prefer to have my knees pinned back to my ears and my ankles swinging while you pound me into the headboard rather than your non-orgasm-inspiring respect!” Which wasn’t entirely true, but she’d had it.

His mouth fell open with a silent clang.

She marched over to her bed and pointed a rigid finger at it. “You get in this bed right now and have sex with me, Devid, or we’re through with this date. I mean it. The only excuse I’ll accept this time is that you don’t have a penis.” She planted her hands on her hips. “Do you have a penis?”

His face turned the shade of a Red Delicious apple.

“Do you!?”

“Yes, Jesus. Of course, I have a…a…” He shoved his hands in his pockets. “I just don’t want to.”

“Don’t want to, what?” Wait. “Have sex?” she qualified in shock.

His face, if possible, stained even redder. “Yeah.”

Humiliation rose up to burn in her throat. Tight-lipped, she asked, “Are my boobs too small, is that it?”

“What?” Dumbfounded, he transferred his gaze to the offending mammaries.

Her voice came out small and hurt, she couldn’t help it. “Why don’t you want me?” God, this was like standing in front of him in her back brace.

His attention shot up to her face, then his shoulders sagged. “Ah, shit,” he moaned, pressing his eyelids with thumb and forefinger. “I do, Riss. So much, you have no idea.”

“You just said you didn’t.”

“No. No. I meant… Hell.” His stared at the floor. “I just can’t.”

The realization hit her, bottoming out her stomach. Why hadn’t she figured this out before? He didn’t have a penis, metaphorically speaking, at least. “Oh, crap,” she said in an undertone. “You’re impotent.”

Anger flared across his expression. “No, damn it,” he growled. “Don’t say that word. I hate that fucking word. I’m not…that, not in the way you think. I can get it up, I just need certain conditions to be met first.”

She paused, blinking. Then she exhaled a chafing breath. Oh, this was so much worse. He was a pervert. “You need me to…to…? Pee on you or something?”

His eyes seemed to bug. “Wh-what?”
I can't wait for the next book!!!

This is the second book in the series, and the way this one ended, there will definitely be a third (HOORAY!!!)

Tracy's books are kind of like a 2-for-1 deal: she doesn't just introduce a supporting character and then never
mention it again. She gives the reader an in-depth look at the supporting character(s), almost like a novella inside of the novel. This really had me invested in the collective characters and eager to read more about them, hopefully in subsequent books. She also involved the main characters from book 1 in book 2 and even continued their story. It was like catching up with old friends, and I was SO happy!

I absolutely LOVED everything that transpired between Marissa and Dev, especially their first meeting (it was pretty funny. I think you'll laugh when you read it!). His unwavering devotion to her is so endearing, and the dialogue between them truly made me FEEL.

Even though Dev is a big, tough warrior, life seems to throw him a few unexpected curve balls that shatters his world around him. I really felt for him, and if Marissa didn't comfort him, I would have jumped into that book and done it myself!

Similarly, Marissa is forced to deal with some unfortunate issues, which makes them a perfect couple.

Not many love scenes in the book, but it really didn't need them. The actual LOVE between the characters was engaging enough to read.

The story kept developing twists that kept me guessing until the end. Heck, even the last sentence of the book has me guessing about the NEXT book!

I love this series because all of the males are to-the-death devoted to their mates. Once he know who she is, he never wavers in his commitment: he doesn't ever WANT to. I love reading stories like that; where he finds his "one and only" and never lets anything come between them.

This series definitely keeps getting better. I am looking forward to at least one more in the series, but I'm also very interested in reading Tracy's other upcoming books in other romance-genres, not just paranormal!

SER-DV-Haven-bk3-Full-2
A home of her own, a man of her own, her wedding day fast approaching is the life Connie Bennett had only dreamed about. She should be thrilled, right? So why isn't she? Excellent question!

The assorted shape-shifters, vampires and other government experiments she and her cohorts rescued from the FARM have been acclimated--mostly. An old acquaintance, Private Gary Vance, returns to make them rethink that comforting notion.

You'd think by now, Connie would realize life doesn't always go like you wish it would, or expect it to. But, even if she had, never in her wildest imaginings would she have predicted this!

A were-jaguar’s on the prowl. Posing as a kitten he’s taken in by Becky and even though all his powers are unknown, he’s accepted as just another experiment gone wrong. Way wrong!

As Raf, Terrell, Leeann and Jimmy make preparations for the upcoming nuptials; Connie can’t seem to keep her mind on the joyful event. What is mistaken for wedding anxiety turns to something far more sinister.

Private Vance has his own agenda. He plans to make Tom pay for all the agony he endured at the FARM and Connie is his tool of choice! Using his hypnotic pheromones to bend her to his will, Vance plans a wedding gift to die for.

It will take more than Raf to save the day and bring about a happy ending.
Your book Haven deals will all types of paranormal creatures. How did you get inspired to write this book?
I've always had a passion for "monsters." I see them differently than most. For me, they inspire pity rather than fear. Can you think of one who chose to be a different? That was my inspiration. I wanted to put a different spin on the paranormal, hopefully everyone will see part of themselves in my characters.

If you had to describe Haven in thirty words or less, what would you say?
While choices define us in the end only love can saves us.

What is your favorite paranormal creature?
Hands down...Vampires!

Which character from Haven would you say you can relate to the most? Why?
Connie, naturally! LOL I'm always my heroine when I write, that why I prefer first person. She has been through a lot of trauma in her life but rather than let it make her bitter and vindictive she has chosen to rise above it. She looks for the good in everyone.

What genre do you enjoy reading?
I really love urban fantasy especially if it has humor! I like things that go bump in the night. Truth be told, I'll read any genre that has great interaction between characters.

What are some of your favorite books? Television shows? Movies?
I love Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. I have them all. (Some are even autographed!) MaryJanice Davidson's Undead Series is a riot! Charlaine Harris's Dead Series. Hum, I seeing a trend here....I've read the classics, too, and as with Betsy, Gone With the Wind is an all time favorite!

As far as television is concerned, I watch Castle without fail! I love Scandal, Rizzoli and Isles, and The Good Wife. At the risk of dating myself, I thought Moonlighting with Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd was fantastic! I loved the dialog between their characters. That's what I strive to achieve in my books!

I don't go to movies often but when I do I look for one of three things: something funny that makes me forget everything for a while, something that really makes me think or one with great music. Loved Mama Mia, Hairspray and can't wait to see Jersey Boys! The Book Thief, 13 Years a Slave reminded me how inhumane humans can be. Bridesmaids and The Other Woman just made me laugh!

Were there any scenes that you deleted from the book, or any extras that you might want to share?
Only one scene was cut. I wrote the ending as a cliffhanger. Then I was reminded how much I hate that, so I cut it. Nope, you'll get no dirt from me. The sensor's might shut you down! Readers have suggested this series would make a great movie so if you know any producers....

Can you tell us a little bit about what you're working on now?
Wow! I have just started the 4th book in the Legacy Series. I'm working on what promises to be a sci-fi space epic and a contemporary suspense about internet dating. There's a couple of other ideas on the back-burner.

If you could tell readers anything about Haven, what would you say?
There is more to Haven if you are willing to look a little deeper. I hope it makes you think and of course, I want you to love it!
The sound of wolves howling seemed somehow comforting, even with the more exotic calls added to the mix. In the bright light of the full moon, the shadow of something huge darkened the snow on the front lawn. A chorus of girlish giggles drifted down to where I sat huddled in blankets on the porch, hot chocolate in hand. Leeann provided her version of “pony rides” to the girls; she was the pony, or rather, a dragon, a weredragon, at least for tonight. Becky and Fi shrieked as they dived toward the house. I loved to hear them laugh.
The girls asked for a unicorn, which unfortunately, wasn’t part of Leeann’s repertoire, yet. A polymorph, a shifter who changed into several different animals or combinations thereof, she gained an animal per year. Fiona, Leeann’s daughter, or more probably, her clone, might do the same when she hit puberty. Our adopted daughter Becky seemed like a normal little girl. But then again, so did Fi. Appearances are often deceiving. I had learned that lesson the hard way. The screen door banged shut and I turned to find Raf balancing a tray containing a cup, a steaming pot and a bowl of mini marshmallows.
“I thought you might need a refill. Aren’t you freezing?” he asked as he set the tray on the table. He hurriedly tossed the blanket aside preparing to crawl in. A growl emanated from within its depths. “Oh! You have a built in heater.” Ignoring the warning, he wiggled closer to the annoyed heat source.
His teeth chattered. Temperature variations didn’t bother most vampires, but Raf wasn’t your typical vampire, as a matter of fact, all indications were, he wasn’t one. He wrapped his hands around a cup of cocoa and sighed.
“Hey, what can I say? Willy loves to snuggle and his normal temperature is 102 degrees. That beats the hell out of 28.” Another growl came from the depths of the blanket as Raf sidled up to the warmth. Willy showed his disapproval at being the filling in our sandwich. “Hush Willy, you know you wouldn’t hurt Raf.” My dachshund loves him, not so surprising since he saved his life more than once. That…and you just couldn’t help love Raf.

Raised by various relatives in rural Arkansas, a lack of wherewithal developed my sense of adventure and a vivid imagination.  My grandpa’s wagon became a royal coach, the plow horse my charger, and the barnyard animals magical creatures. I learned at an early age, my mind could take me wherever I wanted to go and make me whoever I wished to be.
As I grew reading took me to far-away lands and places, the past and the future.  I was hooked.
Content to read, it didn’t occur to me to try my hand at writing until years later.
In my early teens I discovered romance novels.  I loved historicals and strong, virile heroes.  Later I became interested in the paranormal.  I devoured Ann Rice, Laurell K. Hamilton and others in the genre and found one constant. I always preferred the monsters. While composing my junior and senior themes in high school I discovered my love of writing.
As I matured my ideas of what made a hero changed, as did my opinions of timid, meek heroines. No Pitiful Pearls for me, my girls have grit!
Still in rural Arkansas, I write with dogs at my feet.  Sometimes they weasel their way into my writing!
