The Billionaire’s Ploy by Allie Burton 💗 Book Blitz, FREE eBook & Gift Card Giveaway 💗 (Contemporary Romance)

All’s fair in love and business.

Billionaire Jackson Croft refuses to let anything interfere with his merger and marriage plans. His merger. His brother’s marriage. When Emory Barrington returns to Castle Ridge and catches his younger brother’s attention, Jackson needs to take drastic steps to stop the flirtation. Even if it means using himself as bait.

As a child Emory was infatuated with the younger Croft brother, so when he invites her to a party she can’t resist. Until Jackson interrupts their dance, tries to bribe her, and then steals a kiss. A kiss that vibrates to her soul.

To make up for the attempted bribe, Jackson offers her a job decorating his Denver penthouse. She’s just starting her interior design firm and can’t turn the business away even if it means working closely with the billionaire. The project turnaround is fast and the attraction between Emory and Jackson grows faster. She believes she sees the real man beneath the façade, but when she learns of his double-dealing her heart can’t take the betrayal.

In this take on the Sabrina story, can deception lead to love?

Inspiration for my Imaginary Town of Castle Ridge

I live in Colorado and love visiting the small towns nestled in the mountains. Within an hour or so of Denver, visitors can find a variety of small towns and all of them are different. Towns that host ski resorts and spas with natural hot springs. Towns known for gold or silver mining. Towns that have historical buildings and others that have high-rise casinos.
Places like Breckenridge, Keystone, Leadville, Idaho Springs, Georgetown, and many more.
The history of these towns is always colorful and interesting. For example, Breckenridge was named after Vice President John Breckinridge (different spelling) in order to get a post office. Idaho Springs was discovered for its gold, but what made it famous were the hot springs. In Leadville, they kept silver deliveries secret yet someone managed to rob the stagecoach. For the next delivery, the sheriff dressed up like a passenger and when they were robbed, he shot the thief in the back only to discover it was his wife dressed like a man.
The people of these towns are just as colorful and interesting, like the sheriff and his wife mentioned above. Mountain Charlie was a woman who dressed like a man and ran a saloon. (Seems to be a common theme. Hmm, I’m getting another book idea.) The Unsinkable Molly Brown was a socialite and philanthropist who was on the Titanic when it sank. Adolph Coors founded Coors Brewery and Ruth Handler created the Barbie Doll.
So its no wonder that I looked west when deciding on a location for my contemporary romance series. Quaint towns, historical buildings, colorful characters, and stories. Lots and lots of stories to inspire.
The entire Castle Ridge series (The Romance Dance, The Christmas Match, The Flirtation Game, The Playboy Switch, and now The Billionaire’s Ploy) are all set in the imaginary town of Castle Ridge. The books feature billionaires and resort owners, musicians and dancers, ski racers and ski patrollers. Each book stands alone, but characters appear in the other books.
The latest book in the series, The Billionaire’s Ploy releases October 25, 2017 and is a take on the Sabrina story.

“You are what?”
“Available.” With quick reflexes, Jackson bent his head and locked his lips onto Emory’s soft and surprised ones.
Magnetic energy sparked through him. He molded her body to his, lining up the interesting parts in all the right places. His mouth pressed against her shocked seam. Her lips were moist and yielding. He couldn’t stop himself from using his tongue to get a little taste. A taste of heaven.
For a second.
She broke away and slapped his cheek. “You jerk. What the heck were you doing?”
The sting on his skin was what he deserved. He was a dirty, jaded man. A guilty man. He deserved to be slugged or shot. He’d afflicted the man she was supposed to meet and expected to take his place? The thought scarred. He hadn’t been thinking when he kissed her. Only feeling and sensing and seeing.
High flags of righteous red shone on her cheeks. Her gaze turned stormy and dark. With a simple kiss, he’d changed her from light and innocent to shady and somber. That’s what he did to people. It’s what he’d done to himself.
He couldn’t show what he felt. He put a sneer on his face. “I wasn’t sure if it mattered which Croft brother you kissed.”
Except he knew it mattered.
But his brother loved Shey. They’d get back together soon, and it would be Emory’s heart hurting. In a way, he was doing her a favor. Stopping this attraction between her and Ryder before it got started.
“You surprised me.” She swiped her mouth with the back of her hand and glared. “And it matters.”
Music from the party intruded into their silence. Wind blew through the budding trees. Her scent must have stuck to his skin when he’d pressed her body against his, because he still smelled apples. She continued to glare, completely unaffected by his kiss.
The checkbook burned against his chest, reminding him of his goal. “You’re correct. It does matter. My brother isn’t right for you.”
“And you are?” She scoffed.
“I’m not right for anyone.” Darkness surrounded his soul at the truth of his statement. He didn’t have the time, or the inclination, for a relationship. He certainly wasn’t worthy of her, especially after his next action. He took out the checkbook and pen. “How much will it take for this little flirtation to disappear?”
She reeled back and her eyes grew darker, except for the bright flash of anger. “You’re paying me off?”
“Twenty thousand? Fifty thousand?” The dollar amount meant nothing. He needed to save the merger. Save the marriage between Ryder and Shey.
Emory tilted her chin up in the habitual way, exhibiting curiosity and intelligence. “You’re joking, right? All we did was dance.”
“A dance. A kiss.” Jackson controlled the spear of jealousy remembering their kiss. “I’m trying to save an important merger.”
She shook her head in slow motion. “I have nothing to do with a merger.”
“Ryder does. If he and Shey don’t get married I’ve easily lost a million dollars, and even more if the merger doesn’t go through.” Jackson had to remember. This was for the merger and his brother’s future.
“The deal’s worth a million dollars?” The awe in Emory’s tone told him he’d won.
Everyone had a price, even innocent fairies.
Disappointment left him sluggish. He clicked his pen and started to write out the check. “I’ll write this for one hundred thousand.”
She slapped the checkbook out of his hand, and it hit a puddle with a splash. “You couldn’t buy me with all of your wealth.”

A slow sashay to desire.

After being abandoned by his fiancée and his fans because of a disfiguring accident, former classical pianist Reed O’Donnell returns home to hide. He’s pieced his life back together becoming a landlord and remodel construction specialist, but shies away from a social life.

Ex-ballerina Quinn Petrov moved to Castle Ridge and invested her money to start a dance studio with plans to put down roots. She wants to get involved in the community to promote her business and make real friends, not the acquaintances she’d made in New York. When she meets her secretive and sexy landlord, she’s intrigued but he always seems to be hiding behind a mask.

Reed can’t stop the attraction he feels toward his new tenant, but she’s beautiful and outgoing, while he is not. When his younger brother begs him to help impress Quinn, Reed can’t say no. Using the musical language of love, he woos Quinn for his brother, but when his own mask slips will he reveal his secrets?

In this modern take of Cyrano de Bergerac meets Beauty and the Beast, Quinn and Reed dance their way into each other’s hearts.

Castle Ridge small town romance where love takes you higher. Other books in the series: The Christmas Match and The Flirtation Game
Q-What makes the Castle Ridge series special?
A-All the books are written with heart. I’ve combined my love of Colorado with my love of small town life with my love of romance. The characters are strong and independent, and the last thing they’re looking for is love. But that’s exactly what they find in Castle Ridge! I hope you do too!

Q-What order should the books be read in?
A-You can read the books in any order. Every Castle Ridge book is a stand-alone story with all the threads tied up by the end of each book. If you’d like to be introduced to the characters before they star in their own story, I suggest the following order: The Romance Dance, The Christmas Match, The Flirtation Game, and The Playboy Switch.

Q-Why should readers give these books a try?
A- If you like contemporary small town romances with heat and heart, then the Castle Ridge books are for you. This Colorado mountain town has it all: bad boys, professional athletes, self made men, strong women, tortured heroes and heroines, playboys, billionaires, and the families around them. Their stories encompass secret babies, second chances, redemption, unrequited love, reunion stories, mistaken identities, and even a television reality show.
