Everything's Coming Up Daisy by Nancy Fraser 💕 Book Tour and $20 Gift Card Giveaway 💕 (Romantic Comedy)

Will the island magic of Last Chance Beach unite an overworked mom and curmudgeon of a family patriarch in time for a happily-ever-after?

Kristen Matthews is a single mother of a very precocious five-year old named, Daisy. When Kristen and Daisy relocate to Last Chance Beach to live with Kristen’s eccentric aunt, Kristen has her reservations. The move brings them in close proximity to her ex-boyfriend’s rich family. Given Daisy’s father never wanted a permanent arrangement, neither he nor Kristen ever told his family about Daisy’s birth.

Ellis Tait has taken over the management of all of Tait Holding’s businesses since his father’s passing. His step-mother prefers her Summerville mansion. His playboy brother hasn’t been seen or heard from in nearly five years, preferring to travel around Europe squandering his inheritance. After a number of intense business negotiations, Ellis travels to the family’s vacation estate on Last Chance Beach for a few weeks of relaxation—not that he ever truly relaxes.

When Kristen and Ellis meet for the first time, Kristen’s determined to keep the secret of Daisy’s heritage to herself. However, the more she gets to know Ellis, the more she realizes he’s nothing at all like his younger brother.

A modern twist on the classic Sabrina. Can this single-mom avoid her ex’s family and hide the fact that her daughter is heiress to the family fortune? Or, will the island magic of Last Chance Beach unite an overworked mom and curmudgeon of a family patriarch in time for a happily-ever-after?

Reluctantly, Kristen pulled her car through the gate at the Tait summer home and parked to the right of the massive oak door. She drew a breath and waited to see if one of the staff would come out to shoo her away.

“Let’s get out, mommy,” Daisy suggested. “I’ll even ‘pologize if they’ll give me back my bunny.”

Kristen released her seatbelt and swiveled around to address her daughter. “You and Aunt Eloise will stay here in the car. There’s no sense poking the bear any harder than we have to.”

“Betty’s not a bear, she’s a bunny,” Daisy explained, her comment drawing Eloise’s soft chuckle.

“I mean we don’t want to anger the staff and have them calling the police again. I’ll ask politely to be allowed to go out back and look for the toy.”

“I hope it’s not the mean man from yesterday.”

“I’m sure he was only doing his job protecting the property from unwanted visitors. No doubt, whomever it might have been, was working on orders from the Tait family.”

“Um... about that,” Eloise began.

Giving a shake of her head, Eloise backpedaled, “It’s not important.”

Kristen slid from behind the steering wheel. Once she’d gained her footing on the cobblestone drive, she pressed the wrinkles from her linen shorts and started for the door.

Her hand hovering over the doorbell, she hesitated. She didn’t want to be here. Yet, there was nothing she wouldn’t do for Daisy, even if it meant setting foot on Tait property. “What the heck,” she mumbled before giving the buzzer a solid push.

A few moments passed, and Kristen wondered if perhaps there was no one there. She was about to return to the car, when the door was flung open. She raised her head, her explanation perched on the tip of her tongue, and came face-to-face with Ellis Tait.

“May I help you?”

His deep, rich voice set off warning bells in Kristen’s head. This was a man who commanded boardrooms, hundreds of employees and, no doubt, always got what he wanted. The total opposite of his blond, blue-eyed brother, Ellis Tait had dark hair—no doubt cut by a pricey stylist—and warm, golden-brown eyes.

“Yes, I... um... my aunt and my daughter where here yesterday, and—”

“I remember. They were quite adamant about wanting to gather shells from my shoreline.”

“It was you who called the police?”

“No, actually, that was my housekeeper. I wouldn’t have bothered them for a couple of harmless interlopers.”

His jaw twitched, as if he was holding back a laugh. “Is your daughter here with you?”

Kristen gave a short nod. “She’s in the car with my aunt.”

“I’d like to apologize to her, if I might.”

“You want to apologize to her?”

“Yes, I made her cry yesterday and that wasn’t my intention. I raised my voice, and I shouldn’t have.”

“So, you were the ‘mean man’ she told me about.”

Poking the bear, are you? What happened to not rocking the boat?
