Can you, for those who don't know you already, tell something about yourself and how you became an author?
I’ve always had “stories” in my head, I simply didn’t know what they were. Characters talking and going through issues and coming out of them happy. Over and over. Back in the day, I simply didn’t know how to move through the publishing world, and life got in the way – work, marriage, kids, college – there was always something.
As time wore on, those characters kept chattering away in my head. I was a paralegal by trade and I changed jobs at one point (actually a lot of points, but this one in particular left its mark), and the attorney I worked for was nasty. She was a horrible person to work for, and I hated every minute I had to be there. My husband told me, “You’ll always work for people like her unless you sit down and start writing.” So, I did. That very night I pulled out my computer and began jotting down a story. I didn’t know what I was doing. I’d read countless books, so I was trying to follow a “formula” of sorts. That first book was rough! And it took me a long time. Close to a year. I’d come home from that awful job, have dinner, shake the ICK off me from work, then sit down and write.
Once I felt my book was finished I began looking for an editor. I should have done that sooner, but I was a newbie. I found an editor and holy man, was there a lot of work involved! But, she helped me polish my book up, and then I began researching publishing. This was 2014 and indie publishing was a thing, but scoffed at in social circles. I hesitated, submitted to agents, got turned down and decided to hell with it, I’m self-publishing. I’ve worked with a couple of publishing houses over the years, but each time I’ve asked for my rights back because they don’t do a thing for me as an author. Now, I’ve published over 48 books and still going.
What is something unique/quirky about you?
It’s probably not unique or quirky to other authors, but when I’m in the midst of writing a story, those characters feel real to me. I think about them all day and how to ‘help’ them.
What are some of your pet peeves?
People who can’t be bothered to research. I see so much incorrect information shared daily by people who, had they simply studied or researched would see how their information is skewed or patently wrong. I also absolutely abhor disrespect of any kind. It’s a hard no for me and I will easily and happily walk away from someone who has disrespected me.
Where were you born/grew up at?
I was born in St. Louis, MO. Grew up from the age of 9 on, in Wisconsin.
If you knew you'd die tomorrow, how would you spend your last day?
I’d have family and friends come to a party and we’d eat, chat, drink, listen to music and enjoy each other one last time.
What kind of world ruler would you be?
I have an extremely low tolerance for Bullsh*t. I dislike it and will walk away from it immediately. Be straight with me. Tell the truth, even if it’s not what I want to hear, and don’t try to manipulate me in any way. So, likely I wouldn’t be that good at it because I’d be telling people off left and right.
What do you do to unwind and relax?
My husband and I play golf and pickleball. We also have eBikes, and motorcycles. Any of those activities is a great way to get out of my own head and let my stress levels fall. Then a nice drink and interesting conversation are the perfect way to end the day.
Do you have a favorite movie?
I have a couple of them. A Knight’s Tale with Heath Ledger. Man that movie…I’ve watched it several times and still love it to this day.
Also, The Sixth Sense. I did not see the ending coming and I’ve watched that movie many times. I love the surprise ending. Just love it!
Which of your novels can you imagine made into a movie?
I suppose ever writer feels this way but I think all of them could. Action, suspense, romance and a great ending!!!
"I'm not. We aren't dating. I only met him today."
Her mother turned from the sink and the dishes soaking in the steaming water within, wiped her hands on the towel still tucked into the waistband of her jeans and locked eyes with hers. Her mother's brows rose into her bangs—bangs the same blonde as her own. They also shared the same blue Scandinavian eyes, though Skye was an inch or two taller.
"You just met him and yet you invited him to dinner? What do you know about him?"
"I think he's a cop or something. He's got the police dog in his truck. He came to work this morning and took one of our employees into custody. He's handsome and he's persistent. He asked me out, and I said I had things to do. He said he wanted to help." She shrugged her shoulders to convey the message that she was at a loss and watched her mother shake her head and turn back to her dishes, allowing her to take a breath. Deciding to take the dismissal as a sign she'd not have to argue any further, she strode across the kitchen to the mud room. Sitting on the bench alongside the wall, she quickly pulled on her barn boots and sucked in a deep breath. Releasing it as she stood, she listened for Lincoln and her father and could hear them walking down the hall to her parents' bedroom. Her father often napped after supper these days. Just getting to the table tired him out. But right now, he was listening as Lincoln told him a story about being in the service. She had to fight not to stay and listen.

Trailing the arsonist who killed his parents, Ford Montgomery will do anything to take down the entire cartel who ruined his life. But when that trail leads to a sexy waitress who's embroiled in it all, Ford knows he can't turn back now.
Megan Marshall trusts nobody. After all, her ex-husband is a cold-blooded killer--and he's on the loose. So when a hot and rugged Army ranger walks into her life, Megan can't deny the flames that illuminate between them. But their only chance at survival is to take down the deadly cartel that threatens everything. With danger igniting and their passion burning, can the ranger and the waitress extinguish the fire that may engulf them all?
Retraining as an operative in RAPTOR, Diego Josephs is determined to prove himself as a RAPTOR--ready to take down a ruthless kidnapper on the run. But when he encounters the woman who took two children after murdering their mother, everything changes. Nothing is as it seems.
Hellbent on saving her niece and nephew, Shelby Davidson will stop at nothing to reveal the truth about her sinister brother-in-law. She knows in her gut that he had everything to do with her sister's disappearance. But convincing the rugged and irresistible special operative may be harder than she realized. Once Diego relents and realizes she's telling the truth, he knows one thing is certain: he must protect the children while saving Shelby.
There are only two things important to GHOST operative Dane Copeland—his five-year-old daughter and his top-secret job undertaking crucial missions involving national security. He doesn’t need, want, or have time for anything else.
Especially not for Keirnan Vickers, his daughter’s new kindergarten teacher. Yeah, she’s got a tender heart, and wants to repair and grow the town’s library. And yeah, she’s attracted his attention in a way no one else has in years.
But they’re too completely different—she’s too caught up in the books she loves, and he’s definitely too rough to be a Prince Charming—for anything to ever form between them.
Despite how he burns every time she’s nearby.
But when unexpected dangers close in on Keirnan, distance is the last thing on Dane’s mind. This warrior will protect her from the threat and make sure she gets the fairytale happily ever after she deserves.
